Please join the members of the Kokusai Sake Kai for their “Setsubun Party” on February 12 to welcome in the new lunar year. A wonderful selection of sakes—over 30 different labels—will be served, along with an array of delicious sake appetizers prepared by chef Norman Asao. Plenty of beans will be on hand for demon-expelling to get the new year off to an auspicious start.
*Setsubun is an ancient Japanese ritual in which households cast dried beans outside to dispel demons and toss them inside to attract good fortune and ward off bad luck.
