Sake has played an important role in Japanese myth and ceremony since the dawn of history. This evening's tasting features 39 junmai, ginjo and daiginjo sakes, arranged by festival theme:
Cherry Blossom Season—gay, festive, fun to drink
Setsubun (Spring Festival)—scares the demons away
New Year's—joyous, resplendent daiginjo labels
Tanabata (Milky Way Festival)—sends us to the stars
A total of 39 junmai, ginjo an daiginjo sakes will be available for tasting from 6:00 to 7:00, followed by the appetizer buffet and a congenial hour of sake sipping until 8:00 p.m.
