Sashimi and sake, what a terrific pair! But what sakes go best with our favorite choices at the sushi bar? For tako, scallops and white fish, many prefer a light, mildly aromatic ginjo. For maguro, a sake with more body and acidity is a good match. And how about you hamachi and toro lovers–what kind of sake goes best with your favorite nigiri sushi?

This month's Aftertaste at Niko's Pier 38 presents ten samples of four different sake types: light & aromatic, smooth & flavorful, clean & crisp and rich & full-flavored. Seafood appetizers will be paired with each group for what's sure to be a “fintastic” evening.
