The Tohoku area of northern Honshu, with its cold climate, excellent rice and abundant fresh water, produces many of Japan's finest sakes. For clarity and aroma, there's Yamagata. For bigger taste, there's Iwate and Aomori. Miyagi sakes are admired for their subtlety, Fukushima's for just the opposite. And for easy drinkability, it's hard to beat the sakes of Akita Prefecture. The evening's selection will consist of 16 daiginjo, 12 ginjo and 12 junmai labels, including gold and silver award winners from the 2011 U.S. National Sake Appraisal. Please join us for an evening of fun and surprises as we sample the delicious sakes of Tohoku along with a great selection of contemporary Asian-American appetizers from chef Ron de Guzman. Reservations may be made online through the following link: Aftertaste Hawaii Online Ticket Purchase or call Pua at 222-0195. All sales are final and attendance is limited to 80 persons. |
