The Joy of Sake

Aloha Joy of Sake Volunteers
(Veterans and Newbies)

Joy of Sake is coming up on July 27, and we’ve scheduled a training session for all volunteers. We hope you will be able to attend and help out this year. We’re meeting on Friday after work, so bentos will be provided for everyone.

JOS Volunteer Training and Orientation

Date Friday, July 13
Time 5:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m.
Place Foreign Trade Zone [map]
521 Ala Moana Blvd. (Conference Room 202)
Parking Turn makai into Chanel Street from Ala Moana Boulevard, between Punchbowl and South Streets (across street from Restaurant Row). The street dead ends after about 150 yards at the Foreign Trade Zone building. There are lots of parking stalls outside. Someone will be on hand to show you to Room 202 on the second floor. We encourage volunteers to carpool or even not drive since there will be sake sampling after the orientation.

Volunteers will need to have some basic sake knowledge, which we’ll go over at the training. Rikio will explain the layout of the tasting tables. If you have a preference for junmai, ginjo or daginjo sections please let him know. There will be handouts with answers to the questions guests ask most often at Joy of Sake Honolulu.
